Ankama Live - Wakfu #1: Update 1.59 with Jonquille

Here's a recap of our very first Ankama Live. On this episode, we talk about Update 1.59 and future plans with this week's guest, Jonquille

What can we expect from WAKFU livestreams?

We have many ideas in store and we are very happy to share them with you! For each episode, we will have a guest, it could be a game designer, a developer, a graphic designer, the producer and even... players!

Battlefields


BlackFire: Will you be taking actions against players who take their time in combat and those who attack 3vs1?

For 3vs1, the goal of the battlefields is to not go alone and avoid 1vs1 scenarios, you need to have your teammates with you. We are well aware of players who take their time to slow down matches and we are thinking of solutions for it.

Zzaakii: I would like to know if you will really push the new modes, making it exciting by shortening the duration of the entire match?

This is not planned at the moment, we first want to see if this new modes pleases everyone. If so, we could think of a specific map with specific rules! A reminder that these new modes are first of all, a test.

Osa-play: In case of heroic battlefields, will it be necessary to wait until the end of the match to receive the rewards?

As with the current battlefields, rewards can be earned if you exit the match and even if you are offline! You will receive the rewards as soon as the battlefield ends, wherever you are. Therefore, there is no need to stay until the end of the battlefield. If you are killed in the first few minutes, then you can go out and do other things while waiting for your rewards.

Class Balancing


Rekopy: Will you balance other classes for 1.59?

All the changes we have done are already present in Beta.

Zblouxi: Will ALL classes be reviewed?

If you talk about balancing, we will always balance classes. It is a process developed in the long run and is always revisited.

Azuranto: Do ​​you plan to rework the Sacrier completely with the changes to Clinging to Life?

It is not planned to have another major revamp. However, we invite you to give us your feedback on the changes applied to Clinging to Life on the forums!

Will Blood Pact and Tattooed Blood eventually merge to have a bigger boost in health points?

No, it is not planned. Indeed, the passive would become so powerful that it would be mandatory for all the Sacriers. This would go against the goal of our passives to form builds according to your playstyle!

Midohka: When will you revamp Rogues?

Everyone is asking us what will be the next class revamp, so I think we can announce it and frankly, it's the bomb. If you got that reference, then the next class revamp will be... Rogue!

New Nations


Rekopy: Is the Nations revamp still relevant?

We had a lot of questions about the Nations revamp, so we would like to talk a bit about what was announced by Tot in last Monday’s Ankama Live. We talked about correcting and stabilizing the game, but rest assured that does not mean that we are not going to do anything. Stabilizing the game is also about improving what already exists. As for example, with the Battlefields, we keep improving the feature taking into account your feedback. Or the Mineral Tower, which has issues that we will be working on. We will also continue balancing classes. We also want to keep working closer with you via surveys, giving you feedback and thinking together! We will come back to you in the weeks to come to know your opinion on what could be our content priority.

As for the nations, we will keep working on them. In fact, Fhenris has just sent us screenshots of the new mines. In these mines you will find animated wagons and also mine carts to help you travel to different mines! Nations will also be bustling with animated NPCs, as well as new buildings.

 

Zzaki: Will the Nations revamp be patched at the same time as the Politics revamp? If so, can you explain how you see the synergy of these two features? Lastly, would it have a direct impact on the Outlaw VS Guards system and Battlefields, or do you have another thing in mind?

For now we do not have information to share, we need to have a little mystery! But do not worry, you'll hear about it when the time comes. Regarding the impact of the Politics revamp on PvP, yes! We would like to give tools to the players to impact the battlefields, schedules, territories to put back into play... but all that remains as a plan.

Rekopy: Are Astrub's changes similar to the Nations revamp or are they similar to another content?

No it has no connection with the new nations, it’s a surprise!

Miscellaneous


Sacripon: Is it planned to review the difficulty of Wakfu because when you increase the stasis difficulty, the rewards is not at par.

Yes, that goes with our Stasis Dungeons revamp. We want to adapt the Battlefield rewards model to Stasis Dungeons. Rewards that have more value but will be fewer for those who rank in many dungeons. We also want the entry into higher difficulty to be smoother to make them more accessible and to make the players challenge their record. We also want to review the affixes, giving them better descriptions (to make them easier to understand) but also to transform them completely. Instead of having penalties, we would have bonuses that, if the player decides to use them, it could, for example boost their damage and increase their chances of success! The choice in using them is completely up to you.

Ring-Nimme: Do you intend to modify Nogord to make it more accessible?

This is not a priority at the moment, it does not rule out the possibility of doing so after the release of new Ultimate Bosses.

Do you think of revamping WAKFU's interface? 

We talk about it a lot internally, but it's a project that took a lot of time for Dofus and it would certainly also take a lot of time for WAKFU. Unfortunately this is not part of our plans at the moment. However, with each new feature, we try to give a boost to the new interfaces as you have already seen.

I’ve heard about a potential improvement for Haven Bags. Is it limited to backgrounds?

We are actually working on Haven Bags to make them more customizable. We are studying the possibility of adding thematic backgrounds. For example for a winter themed Haven Bag, one could imagine a background filled with ice and snow. And we are also working on the possibility of adding a background sound depending on the kit you use! This is a work in progress and we have no date to announce at the moment.

Is it reasonable to expect one day to have more hairstyles for our characters?

With the release of the Ouginaks, we organized a contest, players had to draw new haircuts for this new class. We received a lot of great entries and this is something we would like to potentially do for existing classes, so yes!

Is an official PvP tournament planned?

Yes ! You will know more in the coming months and I can already tell you that it will be an inter-server tournament!
